Do you really want to mess with that?

Do you intend to tune the sensativity up or down?

down.. just to troubleshoot some things.

the car's in limp mode right now, with no CEL, and I can't figure out (yet) why.

Is that possible? (Limp mode without CEL).

I assume you've taken logs? Did you see any weird values?

yup. lots of weird values. WDC = 0s, A/F = down to 10.x : 1, IAM = 0s, it's definitely on limp mode.

get this tho, ZERO knock, not one, nara.

I don't think it throws a CEL when the IAM is 0.

what I was pointing at really was the fact that the car's in limp mode, but no CEL - not the IAM specifically.

OMG IAM 0 . .. I've never seen that.

When you reset the car . .. . iam drops right to 0?

That's what I mean. It might be in "limp-home" mode, but not throw a CEL. Obviously your ECU thinks a whole lot of knock is going on. Your boost control is off and your running the high detonation fuel map. Anything change in your tune or mods since this happened?

Could be a case of the gas station putting low octane in the high octane pump. If you have advanced your base timing from stock, then you car's tolerance for low octane (85/87) is going to very low.

what puzzles me is that the logs didn't show a single knock at all - is this possible?

well, few things really - an AP inlet pipe, ported the VF22, and a full TurboXS TBE - i used to have a TBE, but pieced together.

The knock won't show up most of the time. It's almost useless to log. You might happen to catch one now and then but you'll usually miss it. The sample rate of SSM isn't fast enough to catch knock. You're almost definately getting it. Did you check/replace your plugs yet?
