The rom tables are messed up and you changed the equations in the learning sheet.

I always encounter a problem when macro spreadsheet calculate the MP. The debug message is "ActiveSheet.PivotTables("Pivot_MP").PivotFields("Count of Manifold Pressure").Function = xlMax" ~ I follow the spreadsheet to log the data below : Engine Load (Direct)* (g/rev) Engine Speed (rpm) Feedback Knock Correction* (degrees) Fine Learning Knock Correction* (degrees) Fine Learning Table Offset* (index position) Ignition Total Timing (degrees) Intake Air Temperature (F) (optional) Manifold Relative Pressure (Corrected) (psi) Throttle Opening Angle (%)
Do I still miss any step? Is it the wrong log I collect?

Winzip the spreadsheet and attach it.
It's easy to corrupt the spreadsheet if you entered the data in incorrectly.

Strange things~ I used a windows(English based) office excel to excute this spreadsheet with my log data today. It works !! I used the other laptop with windows(Chinese based). It didn't work. I don't know if this is the root cause. Anyway, this macro is be excuted and calculated completely. I look at the VE sheet and have a question here. How to check and dial in the calculated table in the AVCS? Q1 : Does it just dial in the value as degree plus?
I saw some column is indicated grey. Q2 : Does it mean dial in the value as degree minus?

For AVCS tuning in the WOT cells, I use acceleration (dyno plot) comparisons.
For AVCS tuning, Freon had recommended using the VEm data. I added it to the spreadsheet because it was easy but I haven't really used it. Tuning AVCS takes a long time and a lot of data.
The greyed out cells means there isn't enough data.

FLKC and FBKC both only have minus value. For tuning timing, we normally pull timing based on FBKC and FLKC. On the other hand, how do we know to increase timing without Dyno? Try to increase timing a little bit and stop when knock event occur? The other question, when to add or subtract value in "Timing Advance(Max)" table?

I increase timing until it starts to knock. Unless you are running race gas, I don't think you'll hit MBT. If you are using racegas, you can use Airboy's spreadsheet to estimate acceleration. If you are using the same strip of road, it will give you an indication of whether or not more power is being made. sega wrote: Try to increase timing a little bit and stop when knock event occur? I increase timing via "Base Timing". Do we ever need to change "Timing Advance (Maximum)" when tuning timing?

I'm the complete opposite. If I've got a good base timing I make my changes atleast to an extent in the Knock advance.

I find it easier to look at the surface texture of the base timing table to see how smooth it is, but that is just me. I like 8-12 degrees of advance in the advance table in the high load, knock-prone areas and using a flattened type shape. to each his own I suppose!

How do you use the Average Volumetric Efficiency table to alter your AVCS?...I'm totally lost here!

It's supposed to be used for partial throttle tuning.
Adjust AVCS to increase VE.
I just leave my partial throttle AVCS stock except that I remove the auto-EGR portion.
