Does logging take away cycles from the actual operation of the ECU? For example, when I'm not making any requests of the ECU does it skip over that code?

I believe it is a maskable interrupt, so it is not going impact something crucial such as injector control and is not something that is a concern.

Wasn't thinking it was something to worry about, more like just curious.
You wouldn't happen to know the sample rate the ECU uses on things like the MAF, MAP, etc?
