I ran across these while starting down a new rabbit hole. I was playing around with my wife's 2001 Jetta 1.8T last night. I found out my Tactrix cable works just fine with VAG-COM, a piece of diagnostic software for VWs, Audis, etc.

This got me looking for any logging, editing or flashing software that might be out there for VWs. They don't seem to have anything like RomRaider yet, but there are some people talking about it.

Anyway, in my searching I ran across these videos. He is using IDA against a Bosch / Motronic ME7.5 ECU. It's not apples to apples since we use Denso ECUs, but I figured the concepts were close enough that someone might find these helpful.

Good stuff, they definitely help out with getting everything loaded correctly, and getting familiar with IDA.
