Hey guys, I've been working on a new site for us WRX owners http://www.diywrxtuner.com. Basically I'm putting together a very easy to understand and cleanly laid out tutorial/how to site.

I'm going to focus a section about Engine Management and would love to have some good content about it.

Theres alot of generic place holder content on there now since it's only about 50% done, I need to write alot of content still.

I plan on having video tutorials on all the basic mods as well as eventually the big ones.

If any of you guys would like to participate and contribute either by writing material lending knowledge, or offerening to let me participate and document you doing your mods, let me know.

The goal here is to have a complete site of mods thats easy to understand and watch.

I also plan on having full profiles of people's WRX's.

Thanks,

Justin

Very nice looking page. It looks real good, with good contribution it could work out real good, and be better organized than scoobymods.com (Nothing against that site, just that sometimes its hard to find stuff)

I can put up a Reading and Flashing your ROM Tutorial if you would like in the next couple of days.

60 MORE HORSEPOWER!!

The best way to achieve 60 more horsepower is to go Stage Two. This performance upgrade consists of installing a full exhaust. A full exhaust consists of headers, an uppipe, downpipe and catback exhaust and muffler. You'll also need an engine management system to fully reach that 60 horsepower potential. I recommend engine management solutions from Cobb Tuning, TurboXS and Ecutek.

Some tuners will suggest changing the turbo inlet hose and intercooler hoses when going to Stage Two. I recommend Perrin and Samco.

You can find other products to go Stage Two here.

Stage 2 does not include headers to my knowledge...

bigdakota,

Your site and plans above sound encouraging. I'm interested to know what your copyright policy is for the content - currently say " DIY WRX TUNER Copyright © 2006". I ask because a lot of the information I have learn't over the past few years is kind of open source.

If your interested in content take a look over my Scoobypedia site (http://www.scoobypedia.co.uk). There may be things you can reuse or improve on. Obviously feel free to edit/correct as others already do.

Looking forward to see how your site evolves.
-Steve.

Too many ads.

Sorry man, ain't gonna contribute to your ad revenue. Sorry to be harsh, but there are plenty of other established Subaru websites with a MUCH larger content/ad ratio.

Also, looking at the license, I'm not going to do your work for you. Open source or no contribution.

You might want to reconsider what you're trying to do.

You have a good content/ad ratio :) And it seems free.

Yep, its all free. I hide the Google Ads at the bottom of the page out the way. Only get a few clicks, making around £40 per year - contributes towards my web space.

Agree with other above, too many ads and people lose interest.

I was thinking "what are these guys talking about..?" in reference to all of the ads, but then I remembered that the "AdBlock Plus" Firefox extension was blocking them all.
I have gotten so used to it that I forget how overrun most sites are with ads. :)

I do want to support the sites I like, so I leave the blocker disabled on the sites I frequent (unless they serve ads that I do not approve of).

Thanks for the feedback, as fas as the content to ad ratio, I definitly plan on having an 80% content 20% ad space. This site is really 5 days old, so theres alot of improvement trial and error to be had in the next 30 days.

My overal goal is, to make money to put back into my business which is modding my car for the tutorials I plan on doing, I plan on eventually making DVD's with tutorials on them. If I can fund buying parts and being my own guniea pig, thats great. I understand peoples hesitation up front, and thats ok. If you're not sure about contrbuting, maybe wait until theres some more content up there first.

Thanks again, and I'll be in touch with those who would like to write some stuff.
