It would be great to have way to overlay log files over the tables in RomRaider.

What I'd thought of was being able to step through the log, and highlighting the appropriate cell on whatever map you're looking at. Is that what you had in mind?

Yeah, that might work. But I was thinking more of the whole log on the table at one time in a diffrent color so you can actualy see the path that the car is moving through the map. I wonder if that made sense.

Hmm.. not sure I understand. Is there another app that already does this that I could look at? Or maybe you could play around with paint and make an example or something..

No I dont' have anything handy. Maybe I can take a screen shot of your software and photochop it for a visual aid.

Please try to keep in mind I didn't spend much time on this. I just pulled up my last flash in RomRaider and pulled up my last log. Tryed to quickly match the data and threw this image together. I'm sure if it was real some of the vaules (that are between colums) would be spread over two values ect. But hopefully this makes my point.

The log file. Thanks for fixing that up. Let me know if this makes my thought a little more clear for you.

Ahhh... Yeah, I can do that. Looking at your example, I'm surprised how few cells you hit in that log -- I was thinking more would be highlighted than would be useful.

Yeah I was a bit surprised my self. There are quite a few that are "in between" colums. So I'm not sure how that would be handled. But I think it could be quite usefull. Looking forward (impaciently waitting is probally more true) to your new xml based verison!!!

I was hoping to get a useable GUI by the end of the week but we're starting to get busy at work. My wife is going to be out of the house more this month so I'll have more time to kill though. ::]

It'll just highlight every cell that's touched in a log. Basically the same as the stepthrough thing I was talking about, but all steps at once.

The overlay will show what part of the map you ran thought on the log you are comparing. This will make it easier to tell where you need to make changes. More or less just speed up the process of editing.

Sounds like that would work. I think being able to see the whole curve at once (rather than just one step) will make it much easier and more obvious to see what exactly needs to be changed.
