I like the hotkey idea a lot. It'll happen.
I think I can fix the column selection, but I haven't actually looked into it yet.

i wish i could get this to work. i'm able to paste in my base timing, and i can paste in my timing advance, but on my 05 wrx map the number of columns and rows are different for these two tables. so when i go to total timing, i get error messages and it shuts down.

It works with different numbers of columns, but I haven't seen a tune that uses different numbers of rows.
Can you post your map? If you give me something to test with, I can probably make it work.

Merry Christmas!
I have just uploaded version 12 of the timing editor. Pressing + or - will increment or decrement the selected cells by 0.35.

Thanks! Now my math skills are going to fall off again. I was getting really good at +/- 0.35 and 1.05

MConte05 wrote: From what I understand, is that the ECU assumes all load values for the same RPM below that minimum load (usually 0.70 for me) it just uses whatever is in that 0.70 load column. The stock 02 ECU has a TA table where the lowest load column is pretty much zero, it doesn't start adding TA until around 1.0 load. However a lot of people ditch the funky TA map and just put a constant value in all the load/RPM cells, such as the TA advance map in mine, which is all 10.20. So basically now anytime the IAM is all happy at 16, it's adding 10.20 degrees throughout the entire RPM/Load range.
I may have details incorrect (still new to the tuning game) but the total timing in my datalogs seem to correspond with the fact that 10.20 TA is added all over the load/rpm range, so I try to fill up the blank 3 columns with 10.20 to ensure that I can make a nice smooth base map by changing the total timing map. Be careful with this assumption. You will need to know the feedback correction min. load value. Stock 02 wrx is .6 Without paying attention to this you can easily make some funky shpaed timing curves. Josh

Your utility also works wonders on smoothing out the ol fueling map as well! Thanks!

You're welcome! I've used it for that as well. It was an undocumented feature until just now.

i'm getting this error message right after i paste my advance table
See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

"* Select "initial base timing" * Paste your base timing table from RomRaider * Select "initial advance timing" * Paste your timing advance table from RomRaider * Select "initial total timing" * Move the mouse over the cells in the table, and watch. * Select the "Modified Xxxx" stuff, and notice the help text at the bottom of the window. * Make changes. Note that the "total timing" views can be inaccurate if your base and advance tables have different row and column headers. * Copy the modified base/advance tables and paste them into RomRaider. * Double-check everything in RomRaider. * Flash, log, repeat."
Trying to follow along with these steps using a 2009 wrx map.. Tables seem to be labeled differently... OR am I just crazy?
IE initial base timing... and all i see is initial base timing cruise and non cruise...
I dont even see anything on the total timing or timing advance...

I'm not familiar with the 09 timing, but my guess is that you'd want to mostly focus on the 'non cruise' base timing and advance timing tables.

Thank you for this great utility
Would it be too much to ask - if instead of a straight line (start and end point constraint) you allow for a polynomial equation instead (as an option)

As non cruise will be what we want to see the change in anyhow... but I dont see anything that could even be close to related to advance timing at all... I dont want to start pluggin in the wrong tables and end up with some bad situations...
