I thought i should start a Thread for 2008 WRX maps.

Please share your roms and logs etc here. i will add the base Australian MY08 wrx ROM, i will soon add my tuned rom here for my stock AUS MY08 WRX.

please if if posting a modified ROM please inlcude a rough list of changes and some log data of WOT and cruise and mid level driving, and some learning view screen shots . (ie, make sure you test it and ensure its runnning smoothly without knock before you post it)

Also post the exact mod's, if any that you are running. even if its only a K&N Panel filter.

i have been workingn my Stage 1 ROM for may MY08 ADM WRX, i have no mods at all other than my custom tune. my car drives much better now and has a lot more torque in the 3000-5000 rpm range, and is knock free.

i have no issues with it after 2 weeks of driving and am almost ready to post it.

Can some one tell me what is the max boost a stock MY08 turbo should run safely?

19psi is the highest i would go.... thats all the stock intercooler is good for, you can probably push out 21psi from the turbo but that's just pushing it....

here is new map no work done to range under 2000 rpm i left it stock also higher rpms are stockish, i have only adjusted boost and Associated WGDC tables, also made a few minor changes to fueling to compensate for more boost. Also few minor tweaks to Turbo dynamics and boost limits etc.

I have driven a lot making minor tweaks to the maps as i logged and drove. I made sure this is 100% safe on my car, i hardly ever get any knock, its the same amount as running stock tune and hardly ever at high loads/rpm. (like stock rom)

here is the rom and a learning view after a long drive 2 hours in traffic, will post a log of this new revision as soon as i can.

Also i made this rom on a ADM MY08 WRX using 98RON fuel (Vpower). On a everything stock car.

i know not much WOT but i have not had a chance to do any good runs yet.





Please note that this rom is a work in progress, and if anyone can help or make changes to the rom that suits a Stock ADM MY08 WRX then go ahead and post it up.

I have started here at conservertive settings and will work my way up to a more agressive tune.

Here is a Map i have run for about 1 month now, it runs very good. (ADM 2008 WRX)

All i have changed on the car is i added a K&N panel air filter. But you don't need it, i was running this tune on the stock air filter fine.



There are some very minor boost spikes around 2.5K RPM but everything else is fine. I'm working on the next version at the moment and have fixed this by better WGDC's and have now added more boost.

Any one have any thoughts at what target boost i should be shooting for to get most usable power?

Anyone else have a Stage 1 ROM for a 2008 WRX??

i take a look in your stock and new rom and I have one question.
Why u dont remove speed limit?
I bought a tactrix just for it, i'm satisfied with the stock ecu, but not with the speed limit. And I will ask u for help to hit it down if it is possible for you.
And I will share the rom of the brazillian WRX, if it is interesting for u.

the Stock setting of 130MPH is high enough for me, i don't take the car on the track so it doesn't bother me (yet). i leave it there for my own good at the moment as i hardly ever go above 200KPH.

I have only hit over 200KPH 3 times since i have had the car, all i care about is acceleration to 150KPH.

post a copy of you map you are using on your car i would like to see what you have running.

Is your car Stock?

Any updates on this? I'm trying to help a friend with a stock forester 09 and the base rom uses the same values as the WRX so I'd be interested if you had an update on this.

Here is a new stage 1 for 2008 wrx.

You might want to change the maf table back to your stock one before using as its scaled to mine.

Target boost is 15 PSI, and tapers off towards redline.

Power is up a little from the stock map, but the main benifit of this map is the Higher and fatter torque band in mid RPM range. And better driveablity overall which is what i was going for.

And i have also changed the throttle to mimic the Sport mode in the STI, as the original stock DBW maps are retarded and give you way too much throttle at low accelerator pedal levels.

This is going to be about it until i change more hardware on the car.

Latest ROM:

Changes Over last:
- More agressive AF in certain areas, and Slightly more aggressive Timing as well.
- Turbo Dynamics and WGDC Updated to smooth out boost spikes i was getting at this new boost level
- Peak Boost lowered to 14PSI but now holds higher boost in to top of rev range, This has proved the most powerfull and smoothest target boost setting.
- Tweaked IAT settings for turbo dynamics and target boost to allow for 17c intake temp before starting to reduce target boost.
Other misc tweaks such as Fine Learning ranges for Knock timing as there were several usless ranges and etc.

Also i saved the Stock MAF sensor scalings in this rom so its ready to load straight on to a car.

I have run this on my car for a few days now, and have done a lot of WOT and other throttle pulls all the way through rev range in all gears. I have not had any problems and logs show no knock under any load, and never have any Fine learning Knock correction or IAM loss.

This applies to anyone with a MY08 2008 WRX.

Here is a newer version of the Stage 1 ROM i run:


Keep in mind this new Map is tuned to run 98RON Fuel at Sea Level, and for Melbourne weather (AVG ambient Temp 23C) The older maps i have posted should not be as dependant on the fuel as these newer ones are.

Check the ECU model when you open a ROM from your car, MY ECU shows as AZ1E400C in RR, if yours is the same then it will be ok.

If it is different then load your own map from your car in RR and then load mine and copy the relevant tables from my map to your stock map and then save your new map and flash it to your car.

The Tables you should copy are:

ALL the Boost Control tables (including Target, Limits, Wastegate and Turbo Dynamics)
Primary open loop fuel
CL to OL delay
ALL the Fueling - AF Correction / Learning tables
Base timing Primary Non-Cruise
Base Timing Reference Non-Cruise(AVCS Related)
Intake Cam Advance Angle Non-Cruise (AVCS)
ALL the Drive-by-Wire Throttle (DBW) tables

Also i recommend changing the Rev Limit to 6500 on and 6450 off, for street driving. I have tuned my car up to 6000Rpm above that this tune is almost stock.
