I got an email from Innovate announcing their new wideband, the MTX-L. The controller is built in to the gauge and it supposedly samples faster than other common widebands. http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/MTXL.php

Just wondering if anyone has it and has tried it with RomRaider. Hopefully they haven't changed their serial API and it'll work using the same plugin as the LC-1.

Nah it's the same serial interface as the LM2, and LC1.

Hello all, new user. Been reading here for a while but not posting.

I just wired SECOND new MTX-L to my Subaru as the first one I got was defect.. took 1 sensor return and some emailing to get the whole gauge/controller changed under warranty.
But its working now.

Im just missing USB to Serial adapter too see how it works with Romraider, might go buy one tomorrow :)

Wow, at nearly the same price as an LC-1 I would have absolutely gotten this instead. I've been having issues with my netbook losing connection to the LC-1 (Windows will intermittently decide to not recognize the USB device). If I need to replace the LC-1, I'm going with the MTX-L. It comes with a gauge, the wiring is much easier, and no mounting a controller on the firewall. Win, win, win. Please let us know how it goes.

Picked up the Serial-USB adapter today and it works good. Installed drivers, plugged the cables, selected "Innovate Wideband AFR" from Romraider Plugins and TADA, got AFRs on the logger.

Great to hear. Thanks. I've already got a member of the local club buying one.

I've just acquired one of these - I can confirm that it works well with both RomRaider, and with the right cable and config in logcfg.txt, with onboard SD logging.

I have one of these and I'm curious if it is reading correctly in romraider.

When I let off the gas in gear the gauge peaks at 22.4 afr however romraider shows the input to be around 20 afr.
Is it possible additional configuration needs to be done to match the readings up? or is there just a limitation placed upon what romraider will show?

I probably just imagining things but it seems like during regular driving romraider reads lower than the gauge to.

Completely letting off the gas (above 1700 rpm) should actually show a reading or near 100 AFR, so the fact that both are near 20 is no problem. That is just the maximum value they are set to display. When cruising are you near 14.7? If so, you should be all good.

Yes I'm near 14.7

Thanks for the response. Sounds like there is nothing to be concerned about then.

I have an LC-1 and an XD-1 display. On the XD-1 when it's detecting atmosphere it switches from AFR/Lamda to % O2. There is an LED that shows which units are active. Is the MTX-L doing the same?

No. I think I figured out what's going on and it's embarrassingly obvious.
The factory narrowband stops reading around 20afr or so. The innovative gauge keeps going to 22.4afr. Same thing for rich condition. So it's just the mtx reading outside what the factory o2 can. I'll go back in my corner now.

I'm looking at picking one of these up...does the serial cable included in the package have a male or female plug? My laptop has a female plug, and it looks like the included cable is female as well, so I'd need to get a male to male adapter of that's the case.

No, it doesn't - you'll need to get a rs232 DB9 male to male converter - real cheap.

BTW - if you manage to get your hands on an older LC1 cable - femaleDB9 to 2.5mm jack - you can very easily use the onboard logging on the Tactrix to read the wideband. Wideband AFRs in useing CANbus - awesome! Assuming that you drive a post 2007 model ;)
