I think that would be much better!

I've also notcied it's quite hard to get the 3d graph in the position that you want it in. Might be help full if there were preset viewing angels.? Hope that made sense.

I've done this ;-) JInternal frame. The 3D portion is just a JPanel. Problem is that its a heavy weight GUI object which doesn't play nice all the time with RomRaider.

I'll put out a test build for this later next week.

What a sweetheart.. ;) I really hate that I haven't gotten much of anything done in forever.. glad you and Paul are making good progress. I think I might make 0.4.1 the new xml parser and 0.4.2 will replace the silly way I made tables with JTables.

Here's a pic of 2D graphing in Crome. It's a very useful view. Tgui says he can probably try to get this once 3D is more complete. Yay!

I can't seem to get the smoothing to work at all..

I've read the readme file a few times and still nothing...

What I was doing was highlighting a group of cells in my fuel table and hitting " / "

******************************************
Numerical interpolation, ie data smoothing
******************************************
NOTE: Data smoothing can only be applied to groups of cells with one dimension greater than or equal to 3
ie 3x1, 1x4, 3x3, 4x9 etc

NOTE: Multiple groups can be interpolated at once

Preconditions: groups of desired cells are selected

Usage:
- Pressing '<' will interpolate in the x (left to right) direction
- Pressing '>' will interpolate in the z (into monitor) direction
- Pressing '/' will do a best effort 2D interpolation (most common used)

Interpolation can only be done through the 3d graph view in this release. Are you doing it there or in the table view?

I'm trying this in the table view.

So I need to have the 3D image up and do it in there?

Yes, you must be in the 3d view. Make sure you're using the proper renderer with the faces with numbers on them. (F1 & F2)

Ok, got it working.

I think my biggest problem is I was finding it hard to select the boxes when its in 3d.

Thanks

is the 3d stuff now considered complete? just wondering if further work was going to be done to better integrate it as per jared's concept above?

i have started using it more myself to analyse maps but to be useful had to replace the background image with a single white pixel image - can this be incorporated in future releases? shall i just do it myself?

sorry for all the questions, i just think this has more potential but it seems to be dead in the water at the moment.

I can't even use it, it is insanely slow on my desktop but works ok on my laptop. Desktop is p4 3.4/ATI 9800 pro/1gig ram while the laptop is 1.6celeron/intel craptastic integrated graphics/256mb ram.
