Hey Gents,
I'm having a similar problem that the OP had but I don't have an error message, or don't know where to look for it.
I have RC10 up and running and I am getting the o2 reading displayed on the LM2. I deleted all of the other plugins off RR except for LM2. When I select LM2 under plugins it gives me an option to select an MTS port. When I had everything plugged in I could select either 0 or 1. But I couldn't get RR to display no matter which USB port I used. Right now with RR open but nothing connected it only gives 0 as an option.
My laptop is running Windows 7 ultimate 32 if that matters.
Any advice would be appreciated!
Thanks

Port 0 or 1 or 2, etc. map to the physical or logical COM ports you have on your computer. In the install directory look in the rr_system.log file for more details after you select the port. It will show the mapping. (In the future this will be seen in the port select box). When you move the LM2 around to different USB ports each get a different COM port assignment. Anyway, you can look in the rr_system.log file, delete it before Logger startup and it will only contain the latest info.

Thanks for the reply. Where do I locate the system.log file? I can't seem to find it in the RR folder.

The default location is: 32bit systems: "C:\Program Files\RomRaider\rr_system.log"
64bit systems: "C:\Program Files (x86)\RomRaider\rr_system.log"

Think I figured out why there is no system.log in my RR folder. I haven't logged with RR yet since I last downloaded it.

I suspect maybe your user account does not have enough permissions to create the log file in that directory. Either run RR as Admin or set your user account to have full permissions on the RR directory.

I know how to run RR as admin, but not how to set my user acct to have full permissions in the RR directory.
I tried again today and still no luck getting the LM2 signal to log on RR. I noticed when I plug the USB from the LM2 into my computer it makes a different sound from the normal "new device detected" sound it usually makes when you plug in a USB device. I also noticed that when I plug in the LM2 it shows up in my device manager under Other devices > Unknown device with the yellow question mark.
Why is it that when you connect RR via USB to the computer you connect through a com port (3,8,12,13), but when you connect the LM2 via USB you connect to an MTS port (0,1)?
Thanks

Maybe I should have started with this question... Have you installed LogWorks3 and does it see and can it log from the LM2? If not you need to get that going before RR will be able to use the MTS plugin to log from the LM2. RomRaider can use two kinds of communications connections, 1) serial (COM) ports either physical or logical (i.e.: a serial to USB adapter) and 2) proprietary custom coded connections that rely on a DLL provided by the device manufacture. The OpenPort 2.0 and the Innovate MTS are the only ones so far supported by RR, and only on the Windows platform. Here's how I would set the permissions on the RomRaider folder. - Right-click on the RomRaider folder and select Properties
- Click the Security tab
- Click the Advanced button
- Click the Change Permissions button
- Click to highlight your user name or the Users group
- Click the Edit button
- In the Permissions box check off the Full Control box
- Click OK
- Click OK again
- Then Click OK once again
- And then OK one more time to close the Properties window
You should not need to run as Admin after these steps

I have the permissions set up correctly, but still no system.log
I reinstalled Logworks3 and it is up and running reading A/F on my laptop. I don't think the drivers installed properly the first time because now when I plug the LM2 into my computer it makes the normal "new hardware detected" chime instead of the funky chime it was making before.
After I had that sorted I attempted to connect to RR still with no luck. It was different this time because it not only showed MTS port 0 & 1, it showed port 2. So I was just sure it was going to work. But I tried all 3 ports with no reading on RR. I also tried this with the 3 other USB ports my laptop has (besides the USB that RR was connected with).
I tried it with Logworks running and it only showed MTS ports 0 & 1. Then again with Logworks off and it showed 0,1,2. Do I run Logworks at the same time while logging with RR? Could my problem be the order in which I'm connecting devices?
I checked the device manager while connecting/disconnecting the USB from the LM2 but couldn't see any changes. Certainly nothing in the COM port list.
I feel like I must be very close now.
Thanks

I don't know what to say... without the log file it's hard to know what is going on. As for order of connections. Plug in the USB ports then start up the Logger. And no, do not run Logworks at the same time as RR. The fact that you can see port 0, 1 & 2 in RR indicates that MTS driver is loading and providing connection info. So this is what I'd try. - Reboot the computer
- Plug in all the USB cables you need
- Start RR Logger
- Connect to the ECU
- Select an ECU parameter to log (Engine Speed?) to make sure the connection is good
- In the Plugins menu select the LM2 and pick port 0
- In the externals list select the LM2, Do you get values? If not uncheck the LM2 and try each LM2 port in turn

Success!
I went through the steps you posted and it worked. LM2 was already checked when RR fired up and everything synched up and worked.
Thanks for the help dschultz!

I am about to buy the LM-2. I don't need any LM-2 Analog I/O Cable and Stereo to serial cables to make the LM-2 work with RR logger correct? The included USB cable will send AFR data to RR logger? I was just reading trough Innovate's website and found a bunch of cables as optional...
Thanks!

im having alot of difficulties getting my LM-2 to read through the usb. which is the best version of romraider to use with the LM-2? and can someone consolidate a list of requirements to get the LM-2 to log O2 values in Romraider. p.s. when i do get prompted to select a mts port, i can only choose 0. whi i choose zero and check the lm2 in the external connections JAVA has crashed. some times instantly, other times takes a sec. but not getting a reading either way. Logworks reads fine. thanks for the help
