That method has never worked for me.
I use this format: http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=6789&start=5
Notice the start= at the end? Posts start at 0 and count up from there.

I think it has to do with the SEO add-in we're using and maybe the mod_rewrite rules. In any case, it's probably not worth fixing at this point since we'll be switching to vbulletin shortly.

The phpBB-to-vB converter had a bug in the attachment stuff, and attachments are kind of important around here, so the switch to vB didn't happen.

As the admin of an IPB based forum (www.dirtyolbc.co.nz) I can say it's a dream, and the PHP-to-IPB convertor worked without a single issue.

But this is a PHP BB inside a wiki. It's been customized so stuff seems to break here.

I'd say so long as you had the table prepend set correctly the IPB importer would still work. I can set up an IPB instance and test it locally if you'd like (I will obviously need a copy of the database and I'll understand if you don't want to provide that

IPBoard isn't open source either! :-(

It feels wrong to me to use a proprietary package for an open source project.

For example, you can easily get a granted FOSS license for JIRA which is the best issue tracker, period. I stuck with MantisBT, because although not quite as good, it's nearly as good, and using it is supporting the overall cause.

PhpBB3 is pretty decent these days. In the past, sure... but there's not much missing from a user point of view, and the admin side of it isn't bad if you ask me.

I only have 3 minor one-liner mods in my instance:

target="_blank" for links in posts
remove the after post delay screen
can't remember the third one...

My 2c :-) Easily worth at least what you paid for it LOL...
