Donations are welcome! This new version now compares ROM images and quite a few updates to the Logger internals (Please read the change list carefully!) ----------------- - Change Log - ----------------- 0.5.5 SNAPSHOT 86b338 (build #399) (07/29/2012) ------------------------------------------------------------- --- Logger --- - Minimum Java version 1.6 (x86) required (x64 will not work)
- Changed LM-2 MTS plugin from event based data reads to fixed interval data reads
- TXS plugin refactored to include Tuner Pro by nitros@romraider.forum
- Added AEM X-Wifi Controller external plugin
- Added Phidgets InterfaceKit external plugin
- J2534 API updated to remove dependency on J/Invoke
- J2534 API refactored to use JNA 3.4.0
- Removed OpenPort 2.0 specific package (op20) as it is now supported in the J2534 API
- J2534 API supports searching all available devices and if none found will default to serial. J2534 settings are stored and loaded through the settings file
- Including com4j-x86.dll to ensure it is present in the install directory to avoid write permission issues on Win7
- Created a new J2534DllLocator class based on JNA and removed third-party registry Jar
- Added extra LOGGER.debug statements to assist with troubleshooting
- Corrected serial connection close() call in all serial plug-ins as exceptions were being thrown
- Changed QueryManager logic to try and deal with duplicate log entries caused by high speed logging, it may still need some work
- Added Logger definition version to Help->About menu
- Updated Dyno control panel to look for cars_def.xml & .dtd in three possible locations:
- the directory where the logger.xml file lives (preferred location)
- the directory where the user stores their logging profiles
- the RomRaider installation directory
- Fixed up the Parameter List Show/Hide state when opening the Logger such that the list on each tab is set the same as the last selected tab's state
--- Editor --- - Fixed Test App's ability to walk through addresses and cross the 0xf7fff 0xf8000 boundary correctly
- scotthew@romraider.forum Added the ability to compare all tables in two ROM images
Usage:
- Open one or more ROM images (The same image can be compared to itself. Will not do much but show "Images are equal.")
- Select Edit->Compare Images...
- Select the two images to compare and click the compare button
- Results are displayed in the results pane
- scotthew@romraider.forum Added ability to save as repository. This basically dumps the tables into a file structure represented by the categories and saves the tables as a text file. Use this for tracking changes made to ROMs using a revision control system.
- scotthew@romraider.forum Added ability to change the clipboard format. Options are Default, Airboy's, and Custom. Custom formats are specified in the settings.xml file
A note about plugins: The new Innovate MTS (LM-2) plugin checks each COM port on the computer to determine if any Innovate devices are connected. This action can slow the Logger's startup. If you do not need the support of the Innovate MTS (LM-2), I suggest moving that plugin item out of the RomRaider\plugins directory to stop it from loading. Actually this can be done for any External plugin that you don't use in your setup.
The new Phidgets InterfaceKit plugin only looks for sensors on Logger startup. Make sure you have the InterfaceKit plugged into the computer before launching the Logger. Please download it and give it a workout! Hi! Thank you for your hard work! Might be a silly question but can I download and install this parallel to the well working 0.5.4? Or should I just delete/uninstall my old version and install this update? Any input is greatly apreciated! Patrick

Patrick P931 wrote: Might be a silly question but can I download and install this parallel to the well working 0.5.4? RomRaider installations are completely separate entities so it should work if you choose a directory other than the default to install it in. The shortcuts will always point to the latest installation. So you will have to manage them yourself or use the ZIP distribution versions and keep them separate and manageable by you. What is common is the settings.xml file. RR looks to the User's home directory for this since version 0.5.4.

OS is XP SP3 Compare function of two dumps is a great new feature Jochen bwt.: with the J2534 API support CAN & ISO15765 on a PassThru connection is possible and allready implementated or will be implementated ?

Jochen_145 wrote: but if I want to display a map in 3D mode RR will collaps... OS is XP SP3 3D view still works but it is slow and a high system resource app. Jochen_145 wrote: with the J2534 API support CAN & ISO15765 on a PassThru connection is possible and allready implementated or will be implementated ? No CAN or ISO15765 yet, but the foundation is in place now.

Great update But its still not possible to adjust the values when using for example a Norwegian computer. I have to change regional and language format setting to English united states. Possible to fix this in the future ?

Possible to fix this in the future ? You are referring to the Editor not the Logger, correct? Are you changing your computer's settings or just the Java environment on startup with -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=US in the run.bat file?

Dennis87 wrote: Yes the editor And im changing the computer settings in the windows control panel. In the RomRaider install directory there is a run.bat file. You can use that to add the settings I mentioned above, and then executing it will in-turn launch RR with US settings and you shouldn't have to change your computer settings. You can delete everything in the run.bat file and replace it with this all on one line: Code: start javaw -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=US -Djava.library.path=lib/windows -Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=lcd -Dswing.aatext=true -Dsun.java2d.d3d=false -Xms64M -Xmx512M -jar RomRaider.jar 1>>"%HOMEPATH%\.RomRaider\romraider_sout.log" 2>&1 Note: it you then launch the Logger it will also be in en_US format. If you prefer to use the Logger in your native computer settings, you will need to close the Editor and launch the Logger separately.
