ok found it FAQ 10.2, but cant see any mention on ecuExplorerer...

Are you reading the RomRaider FAQ linked in the left pane on this site? There's a question about Ecuexplorer where it explains:
Quote:
CEL code reader → ecuExplorer has the ability to read CEL codes from some Subarus. However, this feature was never fully developed and it is not an OBD-II scanner. As such, it may display codes that are not set, codes that don’t apply to the vehicle, or the incorrect code(s).

There's really nothing you can use, currently, with the tactrix cable to read codes via obdii. You can wait until the tactrix 2.0 comes out as there will be an obdii module, but I don't know how developed it will be. Your best bet would be to get a cheap handheld obdii scanner from an auto parts store.

ok thanks for the reply, that explains alot... So it looks like my subaru is 'not' in the some category I suppose, which might explain why it doesnt work...

Suppose I better look out for a handheld reader then, tactrix might be a while..

Thanks again..

Sorry to dig up an older thread, but this post is for Paul.

How hard would it be to add the CEL coding from the ecuExplorer project into a new tab in the RomRaider logger?

The ecuExplorer source code is public and available, and even though the CEL reading is limited, it would be great to have something in RomRaider that can read CEL then nothing at all :)

Also, if the code for CEL reading was added, maybe it would give other coders working on RomRaider (I know there are only a few) a chance to improve the CEL reading ability at a later date to support more Subarus?

Bumping an old thread again sorry. I don't seem to be able to pull/clear the error codes from my car after trying EvoScan and Learning View. I have requested support for my ROM in the Learning View thread, but no updates have been released yet.

My car is a 2008 Liberty 3.0R-B AT (ADM). ECU ID 4B5A347007. It's currently got the cruise/other lights flashing indicating an error, but I can't seem to find out what :(

Are there any other options available, or is this just another case of buying an OBDII scanner? Seems crazy when I have a Tactrix 2.0 cable and half a dozen different software apps!

I have downloaded ecuExplorer and will try that, but it doesn't sound too promising based on what was posted earlier...

There are some ECU missing in LearningVIEW even all Diesels..

AFAIK dschulz tryed to implementat learningVIEW DTC reading functionality in RomRaider-Logger but got a harddisk crash

Don´t know about actual stand..

but:
I know from a few Subaru cars, DTCs need to be cleared as well from OBD-II as well as SSM.

RomRaider is able to clear the SSM DTCs allready..
OBD-II functionality in RomRaider is not planed AFAIK
