After many months of coding I'm ready to demonstrate a new map tracing package for tuning your Vehicle!

The software is currently in development and this is a beta build demonstration showing the rough edges of the software and what exactly it does. Link for download below plus videos demonstrating the tool

* The software runs on Windows, Linux, and MacOS from a unified codebase.
* Any 2D or 3D map is supported through an open tab delimited data format along with basic CSV grids allowing any map to be traced over, including maps that aren't on the ECU.
* Any CSV log with datapoints on the first row is supported. (Such as Evoscan, RomRaider, etc)
* Color map format supported to colorize maps for visual enhancement.
* Log playback via simple "Media Player" controls such as pause, rewind, fast forward with a visible progress bar.
* Cursor showing current log position on each individual map loaded.
* X and Y Axis can be any datapoint on any map allowing for diverse plotting scenarios.
* Ability to plot entire log file without the need to play through it.
* Ability to write custom plugins for plotting in python using the AcidTune API!
* Tracing functionality to plot lines showing the cursor movement through the map cells.
* Cell highlighting and tracing functionality to visually indicate cursor movement through the map cells.
* Plotting engine knock or other specific operating conditions as reached on the map either permanently or temporarily.
* Size/Thickness/Colors can all be configured for more severe events allowing a quick visual indication of important datapoints among the "noise".
* Graphing functionality with the full power of matplotlib also allowing for filtering and transforming of data before graphing.
* Graphing backend will allow for user defined graphs using matplotlib.
* Embedded window system allows for arranging maps and playback controls as desired along with shading support to save screen real-estate.
* Snapshot feature to save various plots for later review or sharing without taking screenshots manually.
* Future plans for many more features such as map smoothing and min/max/avg analysis.

* An open minded developer who is ready to listen to the communities needs and provide a fantastic map tracing environment.

*NEW* Live Graphing and Custom Plotter Plugin Demonstration. (Also notice this is a Linux system)
You can fullscreen this at 720HD for better detail.
This version is not yet available for release and only serves as a preview of what's coming next release.

HD Demonstration on youtube from an older beta build and a log from a poorly tuned car. You can fullscreen this at 720HD for better detail. UPDATE: This is rather old now, there have been many improvements over this video in the current download below.

UPDATE: Free Edition for Windows Beta available here! (Choose one of two mirrors below)

(My ISP is in the process of upgrades and my server is not always available. This will be temporary.)

Binky on another forum provided a nice FTP mirror. Props go out to Bink, you're the man.

(Esc key exits the program)

Let me know how this works for you. I have only tested this on a few pieces of hardware so there may be issues since this is the first release. I'll promise to work on any issues as quick as I can.

Please donate if you find this software useful. I would really appreciate anything you can give, even if it's just a few dollars. I've spent over 11 months doing this by myself while working full time and I'm letting you download for free.

Thanks for everything this community has provided and I'm glad to finally have something to give back! You guys rock!

Just tested it, this is full of awesome. Took some time to make sure the maps were right - tab delimited txt file, x axis first, y axis next - and making sure that there are no extraneous spaces; and then the actual data.

Worked like a bomb, this will be so useful for troubleshoot.

Thanks man!

Mouse sensitivity gets cranked to a million when running this inside VMware.. I mean it moves 50 pixels at a time and it's impossible to click on anything, tab/arrow keys don't work. Why is it changing mouse sensitivity?

I'll investigate this and try to find you an answer or possible fix. Can you PM me your system details and any ideas/troubleshooting info you have please? I'll see what I can do.

Map tracing illustrates your car's path through a table.

hi all.
I am battling to get my Map to load.
I keep on getting "y-axisdatapoint must be floating point"....
PLease see my attached Map and tell me whats wrong with it? Its a Speed Density fueling table (RPM vs MAP).
Thanks,
Jared

That error means something that was not "numerical" was encountered. For instance a letter or symbol instead of a number.

I see two things.

1. You must save the worksheet as a CSV file. It may be called "comma separated values" for your program. You cannot load an XLS file directly as it's a different format. So open that workbook and save as CSV then load that with AcidTune.

2. The Y-Axis contains a formula for column B which must be evaluated prior to saving. If the formula text is saved in the CSV file instead of it's result, there will be letters where the program is expecting numbers.

For instance Cell B2 has the formula "=A2/10" which evaluates to 80. In your saved CVS file make sure it's saving the result of the formula and not the formula itself.

I also looked into the VMware issue reported above. It seems to be a known problem with the graphics library. The best I can offer is to avoid using VMware if this issue happens. Try playing with VMWare mouse settings and possibly installing the VMWare tools. Since this tool will be released with Windows/Linux/Mac versions there should be no need to use VMWare in the future. I assume you're running windows in a VM on a linux host? A linux version is coming :).

Looks like a great program! I've been able to get my ECU tables to work in the program, but I can't get the plot to work. I assume I'm missing something that tells the program which column in the log file to pick from.
