As a spin off of my port of the Innovate Motorsports SDK I wound up with a collection of tools I wrote for the OpenPort 1.3 cable. This has now taken the form of an ActiveX control that handles basic connections and queries for ISO 9141-2, KWP2000, MUT, and SSM.

There is a simple test application which exercises the functionality and keeps a writable Debug Trace log (since I have so far really only tested on my wife's Lexus and two short sessions with an Evo).

The tool and control can be downloaded for Windows at:

http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/supp ... tSetup.exe

It installs to <program files>\LogWorks2 and creates the shortcut at LogWorks2\Tools, but LogWorks2 does not need to be installed.

The source for both control and test application are available here at:

http://svn.RomRaider.org/cabletools

Please keep me posted about compatibility and problems, I'd like to continue fleshing out protocols. Otherwise, enjoy.

Innovate Motorsports

P.S. Now that I have seemingly mastered SVN import (hooka!), I'll take a stab at my Java SDK next.

The binary tools link has been updated to 1.01 (the original 10 installer is still avaible with "10" in the filename, just before the extension).

Changes:

Now accepts 1.2 cable indentifiers (untested with a real 1.2 cable, but I'm hopeful)

Control and Tester now report version (extracted at run time from the version resource)

Updated source will be checked in later today.

Anyone know where the source code for this is, nowadays? This ActiveX appears to be an excellent starting point for a program that provides OBD-II scan tool support for the Tactrix cable, like reading/resetting trouble codes, reading freeze frame data, reading monitor readiness status, etc..
