Has anyone extracted the MAF scaling from one of Cobb's maps, or scaled this intake on a GRB? Typical of Cobb to sell an intake and only offer a scaling in an Accessport map. These guys are becoming the Apple of the aftermarket.

It does not work anyway, Cobb will share the MAF scaling with you BUT it will run rich as they do their own tweaks. Learnt my lesson on that one

Ah, good info, thanks. Would you be willing to share your good scaling for this intake? I read somewhere else that it can be used with the K&N Typhoon scaling, which is what's on the car now as a stop gap. The car doesn't have a WBO2 so if there's a good scaling I can use it will save me the trouble of swapping my own kit onto this car.

MAF Scaling is a fun part to play with if you got extra time...do a few logs and rescale d maf until the AFR is within the range

Is it just me or is that MAF scaling too rich?

Horrendously rich. Good for seeing over 4g/rev and 8:1 AFR's on a VF48 STi lol

Your car has a boost leak :)

Unlikely that 40 odd cars I have tuned the same issue. TD04 on stock boost was on 3.1g/rev, stock intake refitted and back to 2.64g/rev

What would be the point of supplying such a erroneously rich MAF scaling?

How can you have such a high reported MAF /engine load then tweak it down to have reasonable fueling?

Could this be a ''marketing'' thing, making logs look better?

AF#1 Learning at -20% or so would have it within range

Still, it messes up everything else that's based on engine load...

And how can Cobb ''tweak'' other stuff to bring back the learned AF1 values within reasonable range?

Thanks,

Christian

Which does not occur. Trims on our intake are very good across many THOUSANDS of vehicles running it with our OTS mapping on both WRX and STi.

Think outside of the box just a bit.

A - What makes you sure the factory data is accurate? based on some math I've run, it's actually incorrect for many models. Using that as an A-B-A test is invalid other than as a base reference without concern for actual accuracy.

B - What makes you sure the engine isn't simply moving more air due to the fact that the intake is not a restriction? I've collected lots of data for the GR intake housing showing it to be a restriction compared to an aftermarket piece. The more pragmatic proof is the exacerbation of the boost creep issue once an intake is also fitted. Likely not a problem for you down under, but part of the daily grind in the northern half of the US.

I have done a LOT of 5EAT retunes to fix the gearshifts, I can assure you that I am not alone in having the MAF Scaling a lot leaner to get OL to match AFR
