Hey Merp, maybe I'm being a little slow but how does one go about integrating the experimental defs into RR or ECUflash? I know you can hit the zip button on git to get the whole branch, but then what? I feel if I knew how the files were organized it would make more sense and what the date code in git meant.

I'll add some info to the readme page about that.

Basically, download and unzip, open ECUFlash -> options -> metadata directory -> select the unzipped directory then /ECUFlash/subaru standard.

For RomRaider, you'll have to go to the definition settings, and select each file in the unzipped directory then /RomRaider/ecu or /RomRaider/logger.

As for the date code, I think you're referring to the commit hash, which is just a unique identifier for that set of definitions. When I update them it changes.

Oh, thats significantly simpler than I thought. I'm guessing the date shown in git is the creation date and not the last modified date. Or do you point RR/EF to all the directories with all the smaller files that seem like individual rom defs.

With ECUFlash you only need to point it to the "ECUFlash/subaru standard" directory, it will read the individual files on its own.

With the RomRaider editor, you'll have to add each definition in the "RomRaider/ecu" folder in the definition manager screen. As for the Logger, everything is the covered in the single logger.xml file in "RomRaider/logger".

As for the dates, the dates listed on github on the file views show the author date, which is just when I started the repo or added that particular file. To determine if your definitions are up to date, check the commit page here: https://github.com/Merp/SubaruDefs/commits/Alpha

Then compare the latest commit hash to that of your downloaded repo. As of today, 5c1bac4 would be the latest commit hash, and the latest download would be "Merp-SubaruDefs-5c1bac4.zip"

I suspect it's quite different for the 16bit roms... Looking at this rom, I'm wondering how you're tuning it! There's very little defined (I'm not even seeing Fuel Maps?). I can flesh it out to some degree if you wish.

It's definitely different. All necessary maps are available. I think you have a problem with 16bit definitions.
And I suspect that the rear O2 correction for JDM has no effect.

Yeah, I see it inherits from A4RI200I.

A8DH200Z/A8DH200Y: 28FFC (cause FFFF28B0=RAM_AFlearn3 is involved a few lines above in the same subroutine)

Has anybody messed with these tables in conjunction with the stock DP / Catted DP to see how disabling AF3 correction / rear o2 lamda modifiers effects CL stability? Or is this purely for catless folks?

If it's available then shut it off. I have seen nothing but good things on all cars stock or catless
