A few days ago I started getting the generic error (check your connection, etc...) when trying to run LV. I can log in RR fine though. My system log is attached.

This is what I see:
21636 INFO [SwingWorker-pool-2-thread-1] - Retrieving vehicle info & A/F values...
23875 INFO [SwingWorker-pool-2-thread-1] - J2534/ISO9141 closed connection to device:3
23878 ERROR [SwingWorker-pool-2-thread-1] - Error retrieving current ECU learning values
Invalid diagnostic tool id. Expected: F0. Actual: 00.

The ECU didn't respond to the query after a 2 second timeout... Can you log fine right after this happens?
Try reading LV while the logger is actively polling some other paramters.

Yes I was polling and logging fine before and after trying to pull the learning view. The only thing that I can think of is that I am using the front usb ports now instead of the rear ones.

Another issue ive noticed is that it seems like I have to close out of romraider and reopen to get new values. Even when I reset the ecu and then turn the ignition off and then back on, it will show the old LV data. If I close out of RR and reopen, it shows a blank LV like it should.

OK, thanks. I'll have to investigate that.

I don't think you understood correctly. I was referring to the private development and release build, not the actual code itself which is obviously public after releasing the jar. This is incredibly odd for a FOSS project that uses GIT for SCM, hence my curiosity. It's just really weird to have the right tools at your disposal and ignore them, especially after what happened the last time this was implemented. Is there some benefit to this process I am missing?

I was able to replicate this problem so I'll look into finding a solution before this goes into the next release. If you wish to record the changed values use the 'Save to File' button as that seems to capture then new values without issue.
Thanks for catching this.

Thanks for this, learning view never supported my rom, but this does work on A2WC420H - 05 AUDM Auto FXT once you have a def (I have one now but there is no public one) and you mod the logger def to accept your ecu id.

Any chance the logger def can ad support for ID - 3B52503116 as I have to change the file each time a new def comes out.
Addressing is the same as 3B52583116 (05 AUDM Manual FXT)

Hi,

My ECU ID is 8E04503007, could you please advice how do I make it work in LV? I tried the downloads car def and xml in page one, it still said the ECU not supported, it can only read IAM. So sad. Thank you very much again in advance.

Addit info: i can log data for this ecu without any problem.

Did you follow the instructions in the first post and set your ECU definition file location?

Did you list the RomRaider Editor def there or the EcuFlash version (which won't work)?

You would be better off making a directory in your User folder rather than pollute the Program Files folder with user info like definition files.

Thanks expert.

I can use ecuflash and romraider logger no problem. But i just cannot use learning view which.is a pity. Because i need to manually see the logger knock data to correct timing of the new baby of mine.

Did you answer my question?

Can you open the ROM in RR Editor with your current def settings, if not then you don't have the correct editor def specified?

Yes I can. I do have the correct definitions.
