would an ABS sensor function test using INPA help?
also I have done logging before using RR logger on the MS41, would i need to change logger definitions for the 41.2?


Check for all asc/abs errors as in e39 vehicle speed is only taken from abs

Ok i checked for errors in the abs module and there are none
I did a function test for all 4 abs sensors using inpa and they all showed 6 mph while i was going 10 kph so its fine
Then i started logging ising romraider logger it still shows inaccurate speed
Please see attached log of a very short drive i did early this morning of a maximum speed of 45ish kph

in ba114 partial the vehicle speed correction value is 6185

Ok after changing to 1185 the problem is almost gone. There is still a little bit of difference i think i should lower it more. Can it be set to zero?

Edit: I set it to 685 and no it shows 190 kph while going 120 kph lol :D
I just need to find the appropriate value.

Edit 2: I don't want to flood the thread with lots of posts but now I'm getting the gearbox error to light up in the dash once a day

I have been running my MS41.2 Tune along with using the ms41.2 knock table set up.

I recently amended the knock tables to that of the ms41, i seem to now have knock.

would this suggest the ms41.2 knock tables are more relaxed for the 3.0 .

It might be suggesting there are enough differences between the knock sensor noise through the block, and what the ECU determines the engine's power stroke window is as defined by the 'Window' Start and End tables.

I would recommend using the same exact Knock Detection Threshold Multiplicative Factor, Window Start, and Window End as your original ECU. The rest can be whatever your preference is.

I have experienced the same, when going from MS41.0 to MS41.2 I copied the MS41.0 knock tables.
No severe knock was measured.
after I went trough some non tune related issues I decided to re-write my tune on MS41.2 knock tables.
measured severe knock,

copied MS41.0 back again and now everything is fine.

Couldn’t there me no tables mission from knock tables, there must be an knock frequency to measure knock, I think for knock there could be more parameters which needs defining in the def

I agree. The knock frequency is different between engines with different bore. So b20, b25/b28 and b32 should have different bandpass frequency. Not only the knock windows etc. that are curremtly defined.

Let’s not forget that ms41.2 knock tables were meant for 93 octane. Ms41.1 was 89.

Good point, I never really thought about this so based on that it would be an idea to make the knock tables a little more lacks as i am using 97-99 RON fuel over here.
