Hello, I have a m52b20 engine and it already has CAI, decat and N1 rear muffler.
Im looking forward to swap out other bits that would increase power. I know that a m50b20 intake manifold will increase HP and also some intake cams from M54/m50.
I also have read in this forum that MAF and exhaust manifold from m52b28 would help. Why? Because the part numbers are the same as m52b20.
Also are there any other usefull mods for m52b20?

Thank you for your advice!

Dont think you read this here ;)
Also M50b20 manifold is hearsay imho. Havent found any logs or dyno sheets comparing the b20 manifolds.

I would do just cams and then more displacement.

the m50b20 has slighlty larger runners and ports than the stock M52 mani which is identical in 320,323,328...

see photo.

it will bring minor additional power on top to a M52b20, with the sacrifice of some low end grunt (or must be tuned out.)

M52b20 bridge: approx. 24x44mm -> approx. 932mm² (oblong hole area)

M50b20 bridge: approx. 25x46mm -> approx. 1016mm² (elongated hole area) approx. 10% more cross-sectional area at the outlet.

About the channel shape and length:

M52b20 bridge: 32cm (measured outside) in a continuous arch; Channels at the outlet further apart than at the air collector (is known)

M50b20 bridge: 30cm (measured outside) bend in two; all channels the same and parallel

cams will also add more and all combined u may be maxing out the stock B20 MAF and have to switch to larger one..

there is an interesting thread here but it in german. someone stroking a b20 with stock bmw parts to a 2,3l

https://e36-talk.com/forum/index.php?th ... /&pageNo=1

u may have to use the translate took in ur brower for english

But which MAF to choose? I see that all M52 MAfs have identical part codes.

Yes, I have read.

Okey, did my research now I see the part codes are different. Is the 2.8i MAF bigger or something? Will it fit directly on my stock intake hose? Cone air filter is already installed.
