Hello,
I am new to the forum but fairly deep into this now.
I accidentally flashed the wrong 24kb partial bin file to my MS41.1 ECU and it appears to be bricked. On key on, a relay was constantly clicking on and off.
I read through other posts and eventually desoldered the flash chip (28f200 - Intel). I also bought MS41 Quickflash. Unfortunately, I still cannot connect to the ECU to write the full tune back to it. Any ideas? I was flashing to and from the ECU fine before using the Siemens MS41 flash tool. Now I can't see the ECU with INPA or any other tool.
Should I be trying to program this flash chip directly on some sort of bench setup? Or what am I doing wrong. The pins are bridged as I would normally do when flashing the ECU.
Thanks!

You need to desolder and reflash chip or buy a new ecu.

Should I be changing any bits like CRC checking before I flash this on? Or is it enough to just flash the full proper file onto it, re-solder, then flash the partial when it is on the ECU?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk When I go to flash the full file onto the flash chip - is it in Binary or Intel Hex format? Also are there any other settings here that I should be acutely aware of?

I was able to successfully fix my flash chip, resolder, then read a partial out. I'm going to try out MS41.2 on this ECU and port my maps over from the MS41 I have tuned.
I was curious - I've been digging a bit on the OBD1 side. I have a TMS chip for a 1995 M3, but I can't seem to read it properly with the TL866. Have you tried this? The chip doesn't have markings so I am trying to guess the model.. seems like a 27SF256.

Could you go into a bit more detail to this process as I have the same issue with the relay ticking but it was after flashing a factory .bin to the ECU. Do I desolder the chip and try to flash the ECU through the OBD port or does the chip itself have to be flashed? If it wasn't obvious I am a newbie that's still learning so any and all details that you can provide me would be super helpful!
