I have Ecuflash and RomRaider including the Logger working in Win7 under VirtualBox in Ubuntu.

Windows 7 recognizes Tactrix including the SD card automatically.

Logger seems to be working just fine.

Ecuflash sees the ECU and will pull the ROM.

Just wanted to check in before connect the green connectors.

I've searched but did not find more info on this, has anyone used a similar software combo with success?

so long as your properly passing through the devices to your VM it doesn't really matter that its a VM the applications will all run as expected and it would have no effect on needing/not needing the green connectors (that depends on the car/ECU you're trying to flash).

Interesting. I keep a little atom netbook around (it also happens to fit in the glovebox) for flashing the cars but, eventually, I guess it will have had it's day (probably the battery) and i'll need to switch to my regular laptop. I just run KVM for virtual but I guess pass through is pass through,

I suspect they meant that as a term for 'dare to actually write a ROM' - the final safety barrier is clicking the connectors ;)

Good to know. I will possibly experiment with KVM. Is Linux the main/only OS on your laptop? which version?

I'm using a MacBookPro and there is no other OS installed other than the 16.04

Sorry - i'm terrible for missing replies!

Yes, I only have Linux installed on my PCs. Mix of Ubuntu and POP!_OS (Ubuntu based).
