Interesting. I keep a little atom netbook around (it also happens to fit in the glovebox) for flashing the cars but, eventually, I guess it will have had it's day (probably the battery) and i'll need to switch to my regular laptop. I just run KVM for virtual but I guess pass through is pass through,

I suspect they meant that as a term for 'dare to actually write a ROM' - the final safety barrier is clicking the connectors
